Edge Kote®

Recommended for use on natural edges. Dries water resistant with a flexible, deep semi-gloss finish. Edge Kote® can be thinned with water.

Fiebing’s Edge Kote is a product used to dye and finish the edges of leather items, providing a clean and polished appearance. Here’s how to use it effectively:

1. **Preparation**: First slick and burnish the leather edges with Fiebing’s Gum Tragacanth.

2. **Test Patch**: Before applying Edge Kote to the entire edge of the leather item, it’s advisable to test it on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility and to see how the color turns out.

3. **Application**: Once you’re satisfied with the test patch, apply Fiebing’s Edge Kote to the edges of the leather using Fiebing’s Edge Kote Roller.  Be careful not to apply too much product at once, as this can cause drips or uneven coloring.

4. **Allow Drying**: After applying Edge Kote, allow it to dry completely. The drying time may vary depending on factors such as temperature and humidity. Generally, it takes a few minutes to dry to the touch.

5. **Additional Coats (optional)**: Depending on the desired depth of color and coverage, you can apply additional coats of Edge Kote. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next one.

6. **Buffing (optional)**: Once the Edge Kote has dried, you can buff the edges of the leather with a clean, dry cloth to enhance the shine and smoothness. Buffing helps to blend the product into the leather and gives the edges a polished finish.
